New garden for spring 2012

I took the day off on Friday so that we could work hard in the yard...that and I needed a break from the crazy Kindies. Anywho, I thought I would show off some of the cool new additions to my garden. Here is a photo of my lovely herbs that are sitting on the step right outside our back door. On the left (from top to bottom) is parsley, cilantro, stevia and rosemary and the right side is chocolate mint, orange thyme and eucalyptus. Some of them are survivors from last year but I added the stevia, cilantro and eucalyptus. Pretty dang cool I think :)

We added several garden beds this year and here is one of the new ones, which is my strawberry bed. This will be my official first year growing strawberries. I think I threw a strawberry plant in my parents backyard once, but I am not sure if that counts. I am super excited and hope they turn out as good as the one's in my sister's back yard :) I added the cute little reflective windmills that I got from the dollar tree for added decoration and in hopes to keep the birds away.

Last but certainly not least is our first and very own peach tree. My husband and I were searching around for some strawberries on my day off and somehow we came home with a peach tree. Not really sure how that happened, but I am glad that it did. I have been wanting a fruiting tree for some time and the tree in our front yard fell down a year and a half ago so we figured that it could be our replacement tree. I am excited about the fruit though and the blossoms are just beautiful, which is kinda the whole reason we were attracted to it in the first place.
